Timestamps

I think that's where the YTMND servers are located. --LBMixPro 13:16, 22 May 2006 (CDT)

Just so I know, where are the servers located and do you think we could get it to correspond with the Special:Contributions page? Theres probabaly a MediaWiki page for this kind of thing. Moe Epsilon 13:18, 22 May 2006 (CDT)
It's probably in the global settings file. A file only Max can get into. --LBMixPro 13:32, 22 May 2006 (CDT)

The Monobook skin is a pain in the ass!

I've been trying to get the wiki to center with the YTMND header, but it ignores the commands. If anybody can try to modify MediaWiki:monobook.css, You'll be the man, now dog! --LBMixPro 13:34, 22 May 2006 (CDT)

Try editing it on your own monobook.css, so the entire site doesn't look fucked up. I'll try to get some help from people who know about this, but I wish Max'd get back to me... -Mysekurity | talk 14:58, 22 May 2006 (CDT)
It also may be in the fact that we're basing this off of monobook, which is made to look a certain way, and no way else. We may have to create a custom skin (there's a Meta page dedicated to these), and use that as the site framework. -Mysekurity | talk 15:00, 22 May 2006 (CDT)
I would use the personal monobook.css, but Max disabled personal css. LBMixPro 15:09, 22 May 2006 (CDT)
My CSS skills are seriously deficient. Would you mind restoring the color scheme you had before? My WP monobook skin has a nice gray color for the text, and I think it matches YTMND perfectly. -Mysekurity | talk 15:35, 22 May 2006 (CDT)
*Forces Smile* This monobook skin is..... differant.. but good.. ;-) Moe Epsilon 20:30, 22 May 2006 (CDT)
You no like? I think it's alright for what we need done, at least until someone from WP gets their ass over here and helps out.... No...wait, please,...no! come back!!! -Mysekurity | talk 20:41, 22 May 2006 (CDT)
Try this, this, this or this (which all require Localsettings.php acess). -Mysekurity | talk 21:23, 22 May 2006 (CDT)
;-) I like the settings now. For some reason before it looked really screwed up, or maybe that was my computer. ;-) Sorry for not being around as much to help out with the MediaWiki and such. I'll try to stay more often. Moe Epsilon 12:11, 23 May 2006 (CDT)

Max needs to update this wiki.

I went ahead and disabled the rename button for the while. But max REALLY needs to go to http://www.mediawiki.org and update the software. This copy is so old, that it's insecure. I mean, he was able to get passed the page protection.

At least the software got updated. Hopefully that'll tone down the vandalism a bit. Mysekurity, did you get my email about the LocalSettings? --LBMixPro<lol, talk page> 15:51, 23 May 2006 (CDT)
Yeah, and i sent it to him. thx. -Mysekurity | talk 16:59, 23 May 2006 (CDT)

YTMND rules

I know we have a no-promo rule for the wiki, but is it okay if we promote our YTMNDs on our user page? --LBMixPro<lol, talk page> 15:51, 23 May 2006 (CDT)

I see no problem with that. Moe Epsilon 15:55, 23 May 2006 (CDT)
That's consensus for ya. --Unsigned comment

...and if we create articles about our own articles at User:Myname/My YTMND? Because I've made one at user:smiddle/What is Love? It's...AN ALLIGATOR It's Smiddle, LOL | What is Talk Page? 09:37, July 22, 2006 (CDT)

Wishlist

Per suggestion by Mysekrurity, I made a YTMND:Wishlist, so we can send it to Max and see what he can do with it. Max is a very busy person, and we can't always bug him. --LBMixPro<lol, talk page> 20:42, 25 May 2006 (CDT)

Yeah, I've done a lot of work, if I do say so myself, to get this shit to work. I don't want to constantly bug his ass, but I can understand that giving away db access is a scary thing. God damn lack of usable interface. Gotta love open-source. -Mysekurity | talk 21:32, 25 May 2006 (CDT)

Hall of Fame

I think the first thing we should do with this wiki is to get some information about the Hall of fame YTMNDs, before we get into details with the fads. --LBMixPro<lol, talk page> 18:13, 7 June 2006 (CDT)

Yup. I'll see what I can do. In the mean time, it'd be nice if the article on the Hall of Fame actually existed. --Mysekurity | O RLY? 20:58, 7 June 2006 (CDT)

Liga de Cinco Estrellas

Does anybody know about this upvoter group? I haven't heard of them before till they up them up on the Wiki. It's up for merging into Upvoter, but is it notable around the forums at least?--LBMixPro<lol, talk page> 21:19, 7 June 2006 (CDT)

Wonderin the same thing. Maybe I'll get on vent and ask fyre. -Mysekurity | my Oh face 21:19, 7 June 2006 (CDT)
Fyre says it should be deleted, and possibly merged, but not assholey. -Mysekurity | my Oh face 21:24, 7 June 2006 (CDT)

Thumbnails

The thumbnail system isn't working. I wonder why? --LBMixPro<lol, talk page> 12:58, June 11, 2006 (CDT)

Yeah, the same thing happened to me. If you try to make a thumbnail, you get the message "Error creating thumbnail: sh: line 1: /usr/bin/convert: No such file or directory". How could this happen to me!? --It's Smiddle, LOL ' I believe you have my Talk Page? 13:07, June 11, 2006 (CDT)

The new one that is up looks horrible. Change it back. -- fyrestorm 16:00, June 11, 2006 (CDT)

Okay, I just uploaded a PNG version of the logo back to File:Wiki.png. Maybe we should make a logo contest or something the like --17:48, June 11, 2006 (CDT)
Hows this?

Image:Wiki Big.gif (I uploaded it to YTMND wiki).

Looks better on a white background, and it has to be made smaller. -- fyrestorm 01:43, June 12, 2006 (CDT)

Well, I think it pwns, more than the math is pwned itself. --It's Smiddle, LOL | I believe you have my Talk Page? 10:05, June 12, 2006 (CDT)
I've resized it down. and uploaded it over wiki.png. Looks good. --LBMixPro<lol, talk page> 11:32, June 12, 2006 (CDT)

It seems IE doesn't like .png files. the background of the logo is grey on my browser. looks fine on firefox though. -- fyrestorm 15:43, June 12, 2006 (CDT)

It's the old ass Transparency bug. I read that IE7 fixed it. I repuloaded the logo with a drop shadow. Tight isn't it? (The transparency bug is still there though. I can come up with a temp fix, but it'll only work with the monobook). --LBMixPro<lol, talk page> 16:07, June 12, 2006 (CDT)

Looks great. -- fyrestorm 02:00, June 13, 2006 (CDT)

Users

Dont do anything to the follow list of users. They are original YTMND users/max's friends/family.

  • Lina
  • Spudnewt
  • sodae
  • jon
  • clay
  • bargeld
  • any of the damn ops in #ytmnd

I've noticed jon posting up some pretty hilarious articles. We might need to find a way to keep them as easter eggs IF they get changed to something a bit more "professional". :P -- fyrestorm 02:48, June 24, 2006 (CDT)

Okay... Max said he wanted an in depth history of YTMND. You think we should put an article about the early users of YTMND? --LBMixPro<lol, talk page> 02:54, June 24, 2006 (CDT)
I remember him saying on vent that Spudnewt inspired him to make YTMND the way it is today (pic, sound, text). We should talk to him about it. -- fyrestorm 03:31, June 24, 2006 (CDT)

Michael Wolfson

Joshube is shunned from the YTMND community, and he still has an article. Can we still keep Wolfson's article up, just keep his username banned. -LBMixPro<lol, talk page> 20:53, June 26, 2006 (CDT)

Style guide

I was chatting with User:Lina over the IRC the other day and she suggested we have a style guide. Anybody want to contribute? --LBMixPro<lol, talk page> 17:11, June 29, 2006 (CDT)

Avillia

[15:27] avillia >> lol
[15:28] fyrestorm >> you really are a fucking faggot
[15:29] avillia >> look at it this way:
[15:29] avillia >> it could be me ruining 30 pages and telling you how i did it now
[15:30] avillia >> or it could be some elite hacker ruining thousands of pages using 20 different usernames cycled
[15:30] fyrestorm >> youre still a fucking faggot
[15:30] fyrestorm >> with nothing better to do
[15:30] avillia >> pretty much
[15:30] avillia >> yeah
[15:30] avillia >> at least until this call comes back
[15:31] avillia >> and i can go to fucking home depot
[15:32] avillia >> maybe if you or max just replied to a fucking query
[15:32] avillia >> :conan:
[15:35] avillia >> also
[15:35] avillia >> what are we all
[15:35] avillia >> but fucking faggots
-- fyrestorm 14:41, July 3, 2006 (CDT)

And now these faggots are installing bots, Davill and Avillia is kinda resembling. --It's Smiddle, LOL | What is Talk Page? 15:11, July 3, 2006 (CDT)

Daniel Hansen

Has anyone else been getting spam from this guy? It's getting really annoying. Moe Epsilon

Haven't heard of him. /It's Smiddle, LOL | What is Talk Page? 09:34, July 22, 2006 (CDT)

Wikipedia fears NEDM/YTMND

Lawl. Look at these fools thinking just because Happycat was replaced by an open source image of a Shorthair cat, that WP fears YTMND. You think we should do something on our part about it? I was thinking of blocking people here who continue to add happycat to the WP article, but that would be dickish. I thought we were over this crap when Safety Not Guaranteed died out. --LBMixPro<lol, talk page> 10:46, July 28, 2006 (CDT)

moving content from fadwiki.wikia to ytmnd/fads

When this ytmnd/wiki was young, spam driven and barely had any content, fadwiki.wikia had all actual ytmnd fads categorised only by me. As this wiki grows moving a lot of content from one wiki to another, only leaving some links to ytmnd/wiki, is ineviteable for fadwiki.wikia .

comparing:

  • ytmnd/wiki and fadwiki.wikia both have content the other wiki does not.
  • ytmnd/wiki is more active but lacks/ed in style, fadwiki.wikia is more sorted categorised but out of date and inactive.
YTMND Wiki has YTMND:Style guide, but It's based on some of the core styles from The other wiki. I'm against using templates for category design though, Seems redundant. also we need a category structure that we all can agree on

big tasks and changes here:

  • Moving and merging a lot of content from one wiki to another, including style.
We need a definete style format though. I'm afraid that our styles will clash. LBMixPro<lol, talk page>
  • A lot of templates are used for sorting in categories and style.
    What's so difficult about [[Category:blah]]?
  • namespaces may be an issue.
The only problem I see with namespaces are that they're excluded from search by default.
  • The "ytmnd fads" list gets reduced to a category article, all fad descriptions to to its fad article. WAY more overwiew
That's what I'd like to see as well, especially out of the category format

... now klicking through this wiki to check general differences, merging difficulties, namespaces... --Ollj 09:57, July 12, 2006 (CDT)

fyrestorm desysoped me for personal power struggling over me voting his sites, bringing this to a complete stop. requesting sysop again. --Ollj 06:32, August 8, 2006 (CDT)

I hope we don't end up using our b'crat powers this way. I thought we use our powers for the good of the Wiki. --LBMixPro<lol, talk page> 15:50, August 8, 2006 (CDT)
