The fad began on July 4, 2005 with a remix of Snoop Dogg's hit "Drop it Like it's Hot". The acappella version was remixed to a musical piece from the TV composer Andrew Fenner, titled "Folli The Foal". The site quickly became popular and soon there were other attempts at remixing Snoop Dogg. Some of the choices involved the use ofand . The fad never really reached popular status due to the tremendous amount of difficulty with remixing the acapella version with other songs. However, it did usher in a stew of remixes of various other songs like Eminem's " ", Dr. Dre's " ", and 50 Cent's " ".
Due to the lyrics used in many of Snoop's songs, he has ushered in a ton of YTMND poking fun at his image. These sites may or may not use music from Snoop Dogg's albums.
The song was later part of the Snoop Nye the Slam Guy fad.
The song "Drop It Like It's Hot" is on Volumes 1 and 10 of the YTMND Soundtrack.
