THE EARLY YEARS
Hey now. I discovered YTMND in September of 2005. A radio station blog linked a bunch of Stapler sites. A few weeks later I decided to find out what the ytmnd.com part of the link was for. I viewed other sites every few weeks then became addicted in December of 2005 when Syncan was making sites almost daily. I didn't become an official member until late April of 2006 because I wanted to wait until I could make good sites myself. As per the rule with most people, my early sites were not very good and I eventually deleted most of them. As my skills grew and I bought better software, my sites became better.
TMBG
My first big claim to fame was making a series of sites based on They Might Be Giants Fingertips songs. These are 21 very short songs with a specific theme. I made most of them in June 2006 and posted one a day during July. Most of them went unrecognized until The day that love came to play hit the top viewed. It was also my first site to hit the top viewed list. After that, people discovered the other ones and seem to like them.
SITES
I don't have a specific style. I try to mix things to avoid predictably and becoming stale. I have a good mix of classic sites, animated sites, song mixes, and photoshopped sites. I never started a fad, but I have created many one-man fads. I introduced YTMND to Wilbur Force who is the Jack Nicholson character in The Little Shop of Horrors. I have made a series of tribute sites to HeatherChandler. I created Tooltmnd which is a series of people using power tools set to Nine Inch Nails music. I also have many sites based on The Larry Sanders Show which is where I got my name from.
