Stan Sells EVERYTHING To Guybrush (Monkey Island)

Used Music:

Stan is a fad that plays off Stan, from the Monkey Island series, and his wild arm movements. It is usually accompanied by the song "Hardware Store" by "Weird Al" Yankovic. Stan Sells EVERYTHING To Guybrush was created by Torico on May 31st, 2006 and is the original Stan YTMND. Other parodies usually include someone saying a long string of words at high speed, for example, Tom Lehrer's "New Math", but with the same image. Since the original site used music by Weird Al, many other sites used other songs by him; for example, Stan tells Guybrush about xenu and Guybrush is NEVER gonna keep Stan down both use clips from Polka Power!

In the Monkey Island games, Stan was a salesman who showed up throughout the series making wild sales pitches to the games main character, Guybrush Threepwood. For example, in The Secret of Monkey Island, he pitches a number of used ships that Guybrush could use for his travels. His wild arm movements parody salespeople's tendency to act with eccentricity on television to sell their product.

There are two possible PTKFGS versions of the Stan fad; the first is Stan Explains EVERYTHING to Guybrush, where Stan's previously owned vessels is replaced by Stan's star gazings & palm readings and Weird Al's Hardware Store is replaced by Weird Al's That's Your Horoscope for Today. The second is Stan Sells NOTHING to Guybrush, where Stan sells nothing.

The YTMND user MikeyComicsInc created a pseudo-4th Corner YTMND universe that used the song - the most necessary and relevant 4th corner yet.

The song "Hardware Store" became popular and was used by other users attempting to show pics of every single hardware item listed in the earlier excerpt. The song was included in Volume 12 of the YTMND Soundtrack.
