Raymond sites feature a GIF of Ray Barone (Ray Romano) from Everybody Loves Raymond, dancing with his hands through his shorts in front of his wife Debra (Patricia Heaton) in a bedroom. The first site with the GIF on record, Starcraft 2 Announced!!!, was made on February 18, 2008 by houseofcards; by the end of the next day, 10 had already been made.
Most Raymond sites feature a title that suggests the viewer will see the first pictures of a new product, a fad site, or some similar joke; instead, the GIF appears—usually tiled—and is set to random music (video game background tunes, etc.). They are, in effect, spammy bait-and-switch pranks, also known as trolling.
Since its creation, many other GIFs (of Raymond, Frasier, and other sitcoms and videos) have been made by houseofcards and others, and used in similar fashion.
