The image in this YTMND is from a quite famous 4chan thread where a user posted a creepy story about his recurring nightmares about a baboon that would torment him in his sleep.
Kacen drew inspiration for it from two other YTMNDs originally made by Zeratul86, who similarly employed pictures from 4chan creepy-threads to the Silent Hill soundtrack.
Soon after it was sponsored, extremejon made an edit of it with happycat replacing the baboon entitled Don't look into its eyes!. It received Moderate popularity; the YTMND that gave the fad its name and got the fad going was "You have forgotten for the last time!" by extremejon.
