| − | In the original movie, Westly was tied to a machine designed to suck the life out of the person strapped to it. The machine has a slider which measures the amount of pain to give to the victim. Prince Humperdinck pulled that meter to "50"— its highest level, saying that "no man in a century will suffer as greatly as [he] will". The screams from Westly are heard from a nearby village, where Inigo comments "Do you hear that Fezzik? That is the sound of ultimate suffering."
