Sega is a company that produces video games. They created, among other characters parodied in YTMND sites, Sonic who is the object of parody in the popular Sonic says... fad.
Max recieved a legal action letter from Sega on January 11, 2007, over the "Sonic Gives Advice on Rape" YTMND. Sega claimed that people would think YTMND was the source of Sonic, and that Sonic was a pervert. Sega is apparently not aware of the concept of Parody. They threatened Max with legal action if they did not remove the ytmnd, turn over any profits made by the site, and give total control of YTMND to SEGA in seven days. In response, Max encouraged YTMNDers to "feel free to let Sega know how much you all appreciate them shitting on their target audience". This resulted in a flurry of anti-sega sites as well as a resurgence of the "sonic gives advice" fad.
However now that the 7 days are up, we have not heard any news, either from max or from sega, and as far as we know, YTMND is not under SEGA's control. It can be assumed that SEGA decided to drop the charges, or realized they didn't have a case to begin with.
In any case, SEGA has now gained the image of a bunch of greedy douchebags.
