The '''Holy crap''' fad was first created by [http://ytmnd.com/users/CDawg82191/ CDawg82191] on April 26th, 2006 and was at first a blank, white screen with a period portrayed as a meteor. After users began commenting[http://ytmnd.com/sites/profile/413886] on the site, a background image was added. The site went through many edits and became the YTMND as is seen now. The Holy crap fad was first created by CDawg82191 on April 26th, 2006 and was at first a blank, white screen with a period portrayed as a meteor. After users began commenting[1] on the site, a background image was added. The site went through many edits and became the YTMND as is seen now. This fad / effect is only possible on YTMND due to the sites use of 3D ascii text.
YTMNDs of this type often have a variety of different texts, sometimes aligned with the image. The initial song was "Requiem for a Tower", but due to massive complaints about the overuse of the "Fire Spirit" theme, the song was changed to Yasunori Mitsuda's "Lavos's Theme" from the video game Chrono Trigger.
