Someone set up us the bomb?
On January 31st, 2007 the city of Boston freaked out by sending bomb squads all across the city, shutting down roads, bridges, and riverways to stop what they considered a large scale terrorist attack. The "bombs" turned out to be circuit boards with wires, batteries, and LED lights, each in the shape of one of two secondary characters called Mooninites from a television show on Cartoon Network called Aqua Teen Hunger Force. It turns out the Mooninite light boards were a part of an advertising plan for the upcoming Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie coming out in March 2007.
The Culprits
While Turner Broadcasting is being blamed for writing off on the advertising tactics, the marketing firm Interference Inc was held with distributing the light boards. Peter Berdovsky and Sean Stevens, two people who work for Interference Inc, have been arrested and charged in the incident for spreading panic and staging a hoax.
