Starcraft 2 Announced
by houseofcards
February 18, 2008

Raymond sites feature a GIF of Ray Barone (Ray Romano) from Everybody Loves Raymond, dancing with his hands through his shorts in front of his wife Debra (Patricia Heaton) in a bedroom. The first site with the GIF on record, Starcraft 2 Announced!!!, was made on February 18, 2008 by houseofcards; by the end of the next day, 10 had already been made.

Most Raymond sites feature a title that suggests the viewer will see the first pictures of a new product, a fad site, or some similar joke; instead, the GIF appears—usually tiled—and is set to random music (video game background tunes, etc.). They are, in effect, spammy bait-and-switch pranks.

Since its creation, many other GIFs (of Raymond, Frasier, and other sitcoms and videos) have been made by houseofcards and others, and used in similar fashion.
