In mid-July, the user sephiroth112688 created a YTMND that contained a telemarketer call. The call involved a lady going ballistic at a telemarketer, claiming she was harassed. The site became an instant hit and stayed in the top 5 rated sites for a good long time. It did not take long before fad sites sprouted. Most of the fad sites involved other people calling and talking to the woman.
Variants to this same YTMND include Sonic the Hedgehog, Mayor Adam West (played by the real Adam West, a character from the popular adult cartoon show Family Guy), Michael Jackson, and Carl (a character from the Adult Swim cartoon Aqua Teen Hunger Force).
