− | Once the news broke out, sites quickly spawned on ytmnd alerting others on the news. However, it wasn't until a site later that day by the user vinwiesel called "Cheney's got a gun" that the fad took off. The site showed animation of Dick Cheney shooting Wittington in a fake video game called "Dick Hunt", a parody of "Duck Hunt". The song that accompanied it was "Janie's Got a Gun" by Aerosmith. In the song, Steven Tyler's voice makes the name "Janie" sound like "Cheney", which in a way makes the purpose of the music similar to the interpretation-based YTMNDs. The site stayed on the top 15 for days and racked up over 400,000 views. The original site was so popular, it was included in the fad conglomerate " YTMND sings in perfect harmony".

− | After that site, the fad sites started to come. Most of them were parodies of the video games "Duck Hunt" and "Doom". Some sites involved the use of the "[[indestructible]]" fad. Others used the Aerosmith song as well as a parody song that popped up a week later. The fad slowly died after the first few weeks.

− | He was parodized since July 2004, but not regularily enough to be mentioned as a fad, so the fad officially started in February 2006.

− | The song "Janie's Got a Gun" was included in Volume 10 of the [[YTMND Soundtrack]].
