Background

This fad derives from several sources, though its specific beginings are unclear. The song "call on me" itself was introduced earlier in the doesn't change facial expressions fad, but the new fad, which can be considered a subset of the interpretation fad, had little to do with the facial expressions fad other than the fact that the same song is used. Because the song "call on me" is sung in a manner which allows the lyrics to be easily confused and misheard, many sites appeared offering many varying interpretations of the easy-to-misinterpret lyrics.
