The character Drew Pickles from Nickelodeon's Rugrats is used in different homosexual references. The fad was created by members of a Newgrounds group called [[the Barney Bunch]], who are well known on the site for also making fun of other kid friendly characters- particularly Barney the Dinosaur- and portraying them in the exact same manner. The Drew Pickles fad has become somewhat popular, as even YTMND members who are not part of nor know about the Barney Bunch have made sites related to this fad.

The fad has also, however, received criticism, particularly because of the sites related to this fad often contain references to feces, semen and urine, which many users find to be disgusting or spam.
