Mother's Day Bug

On Sunday, May 13, 2007, Mother's Day, YTMND.COM went down, displaying only:
MYSQL CONNECTION FAILED: [1129] Host 'ytmnd.com' is blocked because of many connection errors; unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts'
on the front page. It had been working intermittently the entire day, and finally crashed at around 1:40PM MST. The YTMND WIKI, YTMND FORUMS and Max Goldberg's other websites, YTMND.NET, YTMND.ORG, and DUSTINDIAMOND.COM still worked. Nevertheless, YTMNDer activity continued through this. The incident was discussed in the YTMND forums, as well as on Gabbly.
Following a post that GABBLY user Max_Goldberg made, GABBLY user TheDudeVonDoom created an image to circulate:Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination
A few minutes later, at 4:00 PM MST, YTMND returned just as good as new.
