The "Link Finds" fad is based off a scene from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time where Link opens a treasure chest to get the Kokiri Sword. The first site by Ravager featured Link finding Milton Waddam's stapler. After that for the next month, various "Link Finds" sites popped up, showing Link finding various items. Despite the fact that it's not among one of ytmnd's most popular fads, new ones constantly pop up time after time based on the current fads. For example, a recent "Link Finds" site involved the Shoe on Head fad.
