The Hypnotic Hands fad was started on March 22, 2006 when karndude created a YTMND of actor Charles Martint moving his hands around in an "extreme fashion". Charles is most known as the voice of Mario in such video games as Super Mario 64[1] as Mario as well as the voice of Mario, Luigi and Wario in Mario Kart 64[2]. He has appeared as the voice in 48 other video games (mostly of Mario relation) since then[3].
