(?x) began its life as a forced fad by the army of FPA forums, but quickly appealed to YTMND users because of its mystery and intrigue.  The (?x) often replaces letters in a title, such as the "a" in {{ytmnd|hum-n|hum-n.ytmnd.com}}. Many YTMNDers whose (?x) sites ended up on their top rated lists didn't even know what it was about!  Fortunately, [[User:k0mputer|k0mputer]] eventually created a YTMND explaining (?x), thus minimizing confusion: {{ytmnd|xexplained|xexplained.ytmnd.com}}
